MANAGER
 A qualified Shipwright originally from New Zealand where he developed a love of sailing, Don came to Sydney, Australia during the 1960's.
 Don first worked at the renowned Halvorsen Yard at Ryde before teaming up with business partner Heuchmer to form Compass Yachts Australasia, who during the seventies were Australia's largest yacht builder, designing and building production GRP yachts for local and overseas markets.
 After the closure of Compass in 1981 Don resumed a management roll supervising the building of aluminium and GRP recreational and commercial vessels.
 Since moving to Brisbane in 1990, he has been in a self-employed role as a marine consultant, having to date completed more than 3500 pre-purchase and insurance inspections.
 Don will appraise your vessel and make recommendations that will enhance the sale of your boat. |

Sailing since the age of 10 years old, with experience sailing everything from dinghies, trailer sailers to keel boats large and small, in all conditions. Extensive charters in locations such as the Whitsundays, Tonga, Fiji.
An extensive sales and marketing career spans 40 years in diverse markets including Industrial Chemicals, Electroplating, Precious Metals, Home Improvements, Shopping Centre Management. Has established and developed a very successful business in the Home Services sector over 10 years.
Semi-retirement has involved his passion for yacht restoration. Having purchased and personally restored five yachts, each of which has been subsequently sold for a profit, has provided a wealth of practical experience.
Mike is a passionate sailor with expertise in vessel restoration who has the professional experience to enthusiastically market your vessel.

Simon Vials
YACHT BROKER

After retiring from 25 years as a NSW Police Officer, Simon rekindled his past passion for sailing and everything boating when he was invited to join the SBS team in 2009.
Simon built his first yacht in steel in the late 1970's; however his joy of sailing had to be put on hold when he was transferred to country NSW. This move from sea was short lived, as due to a background in ocean sailing, he soon became sort after to carry out a number of long distance yacht deliveries. The most memorable being the delivery of a Roberts 45 from Perth to Sydney in very arduous conditions.
In January 2008 Simon travelled to the USA, located and bought an Ericson yacht and sailed her home single handed, leaving San Francisco on 3rd of May, arriving in Brisbane 24th September via tropical stopovers in some of the Pacific's most beautiful islands.
Simon brings to the team a vast knowledge of American built vessels, strong ethics and an enthusiasm for assisting prospective buyers realise their dreams; helping to smooth the process of what can be a very emotive time.
